What is the ” All the World’s Mazurkas “ Festival ?
All the World’s Mazurkas festival was founded in 2010 on the initiative of Janusz Prusinowski and members of the Polish environment the House of Dance, who then founded the Foundation Mazurkas of the World. Since that time, it takes place twice a year – spring and autumn. As a part of tradition became also Mazurkas Mondays (the second day of Easter) prepared in the Pokamedulski Church Bielany whose originator was Kaja Prusinowska.
The aim of the festival is to promote Polish traditional music and dance forms taken directly from the village musicians and dancers. Each festival has its own leading idea implemented through a series of activities that engage rural performers and artists of the older generation of professional musicians and young enthusiastic generations of traditional music. It is part of all these groups and the unusual atmosphere of the meeting means that the festival attracts more and wider polish and foreign audiences.
Among the permanent items of the festival , program include: music and dance workshops, concerts, old tradition – a competition for young performers marketplace Instruments, Small Mazurkas – workshops, performances and other attractions for children, clubs Festival and Night of Dance. So created program is complemented by conferences, exhibitions, meetings with foreign guests, concerts, combining traditional music along with other genres of music, films and much more.
