For all interested – you need to bring your own instrument
We will learn how to hold a drum to produce sound in the most efficient way, and find out what tempo the Kajok obers are played in. Is it really three? We will also learn what the ober phrase really means and how it can be emphasized on a drum. Then we will think about the embellishments used by Tadeusz Duda from Rdzuchów, and look for ways to ensure we keep up the rhythm and pulse characteristic for the old Kajok violin melodies. We will also listen to archival recordings of Tadeusz Duda drumming for various musicians.
Agopsowicz band – enthusiasts, researchers, and players of traditional music from the Kajok microregion in the western Radom region. They document dancers, singers, and musicians and collaborate with them to create activities popularizing village music in its natural form. The band members are Antek Hasso-Agopsowicz and Witek Wojciechowski, who sing and interchangeably play the violin and the drum, and the bass player Marta Gotfryd.
