DRUMS – The Basics

The workshop will be centered around the favorite melodies of the Kapela Niwińskich band. Agnieszka will take the participants through the basics of playing on frame drums and barabans. She will be accompanied by Mateusz Niwiński, playing the virtuoso Sanniki obereks from Józef Ciastek, and the crazy polkas from Piotr Gaca.

Agnieszka Niwińska – animator, teacher, musician. She plays traditional Polish music on frame drums and barabans. She developed her style playing with great rural musicians, including violinists Piotr Gaca, Jan Kmita, Stefan Nowaczek, and accordionist Tadusz Lipiec. Together with her husband, she co-creates the Kapela Niwińskich band, as well as other music projects – Orkiestra Galicja and Poleski Skład Skrzypcowy.
