Mazur – steps and basic figures

The workshop aims to familiarize the participants with mazur dance steps: sliding step, heel click jump and krzesany (fire striking) step, which render its rhythm and character. We will learn dancing in couples through different dance holds. Based on that we will form figures danced by individual couples. Next, we will try to combine many couples and figures together as in a real ballroom dance. In doing so we shall refer to the times when mazur was danced not just on stage but on a regular basis and for pleasure.
