Minor Toolbox Workshop

The workshop is open to all and no previous musical knowledge is required.

The seminar conducted by Luca Buccarella will examine the so-called “minor toolbox”. Spoons, castagnole, scacciapensieri, friction drums, washers and all the other sound objects used in the Apulian folk tradition will constitute the setting of the laboratory, which includes a part dedicated to the study of executive techniques and a part of ensemble music production. Attention will also be paid to the use of the voice in the Salento tradition and to another fascinating instrument: the blues harp (harmonica).

Luca Buccarella is a multi-instrumentalist musician, music therapist and expert teacher of the musical traditions of southern Italy. He is one of the founding members of the Kalascima group, one of the most important and innovative bands in the world music scene.
