SONGS from the Kielce region
Led by Ewa Grochowska
For all interested
We will sing wedding and lyrical songs, as well as short folk songs that go with the landscape where chłopy are born and raised. Chłopy is a local name for mazurka melodies used in Sędek, Łagów district. We will be singing songs from the repertoire of two extraordinary singers – Maria Kowalik from Sędek and Maria Gałka from Orłowiny. We will get to know the singing characteristics and repertoire specific to the Kielce region, and try to investigate some middle-of-the-road forms between singing and dancing.
