VIOLIN Melodies from Józef Kędzierski
Led by Antek Hasso-Agopsowicz; Witek Wojciechowski drumming
For intermediate players – you need to bring your own instrument and be able to learn a melody by ear and repeat it on the instrument
We will focus on the melodies from Józef Kędzierski, a wonderful violinist from Rdzuchów Radom region. We will work on his specific bowing style, closely connected to dance and the accents characteristic for family singing, as well as the most important aspect of the Kędzierski music – variants and the unique ways of using the rubato. Rooted in singing, they find an exquisite elaboration in violin music. We will have a close look at them in obers, the core of the Kędzierski family repertoire.
Agopsowicz band – enthusiasts, researchers, and players of traditional music from the Kajok microregion in the western Radom region. They document dancers, singers, and musicians and collaborate with them to create activities popularizing village music in its natural form. The band members are Antek Hasso-Agopsowicz and Witek Wojciechowski, who sing and
interchangeably play the violin and the drum, and the bass player Marta Gotfryd.
