Chłopcy z Nowoszyszek
Chłopcy z Nowoszyszek is a band founded by enthusiasts of traditional music from the Polish-Lithuanian-Belarusian borderland.
The group’s repertoire consists of dance tunes: polkas, waltzes, obereks, foxtrots, krakowiak – more widely spread throughout Poland, but also more exotic dances characteristic of the multicultural melting pot of the former Republic, such as kochaneczka, wasadula, kozak.
The melodies come mainly from the late Suwałki fiddlers Franciszek Racis and Mieczysław Pachutko.
