Gracze z Łęgu

by | Apr 12, 2025

A band that performs traditional music from Wielkopolska with a lineup of Wielkopolska bagpipes and baraban. The name alludes to the materials used to make the playing parts of Wielkopolska bagpipes, i.e. reeds and elderberries growing in riparian forests – types of ecological habitats often found in southwestern Wielkopolska.

Their repertoire consists of various regional melodies: równy, okrągły and wiwat dances, as well as waltzes and polkas, coming from Karol Majerowski’s home area, i.e. the Middle Obra Valley and Babimojszczyzna. Karol Majerowski has been learning the art of playing the bagpipes for many years at Pozna’s Zamek CK under the guidance of master Romuald Jędraszak.

At the Festival they will play as a trio – with guest participation of Janusz Prusinowski on violin.

The lineup of the band:
Karol Majerowski – Wielkopolska bagpipes
Marcin Małecki – baraban
Guest:
Janusz Prusinowski – violin
