Hraybery

The HrayBery are bringing forgotten music back to life. Music that at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries resounded at the meeting point of intermingling cultures, today’s Polish-Ukrainian borderland in the Galician countryside. Most often – in inns around the villages, in towns and shtetls, visited by autochthons: Ruthenians/Ukrainians, Poles, Jews, but also wandering Roma, or merchants of various nations traversing the trade routes.
The ensemble’s repertoire consists mainly of dance tunes: kozaki and kozaczki, kolomyjki, mazurkas, polkas and ciuryła. The instrumentation used by the band was common in the area as early as the late 16th century.
During the Night of Dance they will perform with singers: Tania Harasym and Daria Pulkowska.
The band will perform as follows:
Serhii Postolnikov – dulcimer
Maksym Nakonieczny – violin
Marta Bodnar – violin
Agata Weber – drum
Guest musicians:
Tania Harasym – vocal
Daria Pulkowska – vocal
