Kapela Katarzyny Chodoń

Members of the group have been conducting field research among singers and bands of the Cracow region since 2013. The result is a repertoire based on krakowiaks, polkas, chodzone and waltzes, leaning towards the northern borderlands of the Cracow land. The band’s sound is based on the heligonka, characteristic of the region, supplemented by singing and baraban.
The band places special emphasis on restoring the krakowiak dance tradition by organizing workshops and animating the audience at dances. The group constantly cooperates with Bronowice’s Złoty Róg community theater and the Historical Museum of the City of Cracow in Rydlówka.
Line-up:
Katarzyna Chodoń – singing, dancing
Żaneta Seweryn – heligonka, dulcimer
Arkadiusz Szałata – baraban, dancing
